A Note from Mr. Clarke
Dear Armbrae Families and Community Members,
Enrolment Update - Armbrae On Target
Thank you to all our families that re-enrolled on time so that we could set informed targets for next year. It is very helpful to know how many seats we have to fill in each grade so that we can grow modestly and strategically.
As of today, I am delighted to report that our total enrollment (returning + new students) is at 97% of our overall target for next school year, and that we are projecting double sections in Grades 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
Balancing the size and composition of Armbrae’s population is no easy task, and I’d like to thank Suzanne Morrison - our Director of Marketing and Admissions for the positivity and energy she gives to this every year. I would also like to thank the members of our Admissions and Tuition Aid teams for supporting Suzanne: Tara Burt and Megan Sernyk (academic testing), Brendan Brisco (language testing), Michael Maki (guidance), and Ally Read and Alyssa Hill (tuition assistance).
Philosophically, our Strategic Plan guides everything we do - including balancing the size and composition of our population. We all want to preserve our unique school culture, but we have to ensure we are large enough to provide the opportunities that our children need to grow, learn, and explore - to Unleash Their Potential. Here again are the Strategic Priorities as listed in our plan:
- Our Community, Culture & Student Centredness
- Our Pursuit of Excellence
- Our Commitment to Inclusion
This obvious link between our priorities and population composition is another example of strategy in action. And I am looking forward to continuing our growth together.
That’s it from me. Please enjoy reading the rest of this edition.
Cheers,
Steve.

Middle School
5 weeks until exams!
Today students learned about creating an exam study schedule. Ask your child about theirs. All exam preparation resources are posted on the Advisory Brightspace pages. Exam outlines are coming out this week and will be posted on the respective subject Brightspace pages.
Do your child’s items seem disorganized? This is a busy time for Middle School students as they are putting together various summative assessments and starting to prepare for exams. Some students will need parental support to remain organized and meet deadlines. The summative assessment calendar is posted on the Advisory Brightspace page. Please take a moment to check your child’s binders to ensure their materials are filed in order and that they have all their materials. If you need assistance, please contact your child’s advisor.
Upper School
The 2024 Exam Schedule has been shared with students and is posted on the Upper School Handbook course on Brightspace. If students have any questions they should speak with their advisor, Mr. Maki or Ms. Read.
