Golf Tournament: Friday, September 29th
Our 3rd Annual Osprey Golf Tournament in support of our Annual Fund Campaign will be hosted at Osprey Ridge Golf Club on Friday, September 29th. There are lots of ways to get involved! We are looking for hole sponsors, prize donations, and volunteers to help make this a success! Please reach out to mjackson@armbrae.ns.ca. To register a team, click here. Terry Fox Run
Armbrae will be participating in the Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 22nd. This year our goal is to raise $5000 in support of cancer research. If you would like to donate, please click on our school link. You can also share this link with your family and friends who would like to support your child’s participation in this event. On this day, students will be walking or running in support of Terry’s dream and will be permitted to wear Armbrae gym clothes or Terry Fox t-shirts if they have them. Terry Fox t-shirts are not required, but can be purchased online through the Terry Fox Foundation.
Social Networking Safety Presenter
Social Networking Safety Presenter Paul Davis is returning to Armbrae on Monday, October 23rd to speak to our students and parents. Please save the date!
Carpooling Request
We have a family moving to Long Lake in the fall and they are looking to see if other families are interested in carpooling to and from Armbrae. If you are interested please contact Ms. Morrison and she will connect you with this current Armbrae family.
Divisional Announcements
Lower School
- Uniform requirements and school supply lists can be found on the Lower School myArmbrae Site.
- Please remember that all students entering Grades 5 and 6 will need their own device. For more detailed information regarding our 1-1 Computing Plan, including advice from Mr. Rhinelander as to which device may be best for your child, please visit our website.
- Lower School Curriculum night will be Tuesday, September 19th at 6:30pm. Teachers are looking forward to meeting all the parents and going over curriculum and classroom expectations.
- On Wednesday, September 13th, the Primary students are invited to the Primary Commencement. The ceremony will happen during our full school assembly at 8:30am. This is a special ceremony and celebration for the Primary students to welcome them into the Lower School. This will be a number one uniform day for all students and all parents are welcome to attend!
Middle School
- Students will receive an email with their timetable the evening of Thursday, August 31st.

- Please note that this year there is a different dismissal time for Middle School students to allow them to unlock their Yondr pouches. All back to school information can be found on the Middle School MyArmbrae website.
- Please save the date for the Middle School Bayside trip happening September 14th & 15th. Students depart from school the morning of the 14th and return to campus by the end of the school day on the 15th. The approximate cost is $150.
Upper School
- Students will receive their timetable by email on Thursday, August 31st. Course Change Requests will be available after the first full rotation of classes (Thursday, September 7th). Students who would like to make changes to their courses should speak with Mr. Maki prior to completing the Course Change Request form, which can be found in the Upper School Student Handbook course on Brightspace.
- Class trips this fall will take place from September 14th - 15th. Students depart from school the morning of the 14th and return to campus by the end of the school day on the 15th. Grades 9 & 10 will be returning to Sherbrooke Lake Camp and Grades 11 & 12 will be heading to Camp Mush-a-Mush. The approximate cost will be $100 per student.
- Upper School Curriculum Night will be an in-person event, starting at 6:30pm on Thursday, September 21st. We will be going over our academic and co-curricular programs, Brightspace (our Learning Management System), and more!
Athletics
- The following teams will be starting practice next week: Cross Country, Soccer and Volleyball.
- Senior Volleyball meeting will be held on Thursday at 4:00 in the AARC.
- This summer we had 5 Field Hockey players make the Nova Scotia Provincial Team (Ella, Sophie, Julia, Harnoor, Morgan). Sophie was named in the top 11 in Canada- Congratulations!
Auxiliary Programme Department
- CAS Fair will be held on Friday, September 8th from 3:00-4:00 in the AARC. Come learn about all of our co-curricular offerings!
