A Note from Mr. Clarke
Dear Armbrae Families and Community Members:
Ms. B Continued…
Thank you to all of you that joined us for Sue Beazley’s retirement celebration on May 4th. Andy Fillmore, MP for Halifax, was in attendance and he presented Sue with a lifetime achievement award for her 46 years of service to Armbrae Academy and Halifax Ladies College. The next event for Sue will be the unveiling of the Susan Beazley Sport Hall of Fame at this year’s Celebration of Sport on May 21st. And we will induct new members to the SBSHOF at the same time each year.
Jack Harrington - Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship + HRM Citizenship Award Winner!
Speaking of celebrations, please join us in celebrating Jack Harrington. Firstly, Jack is this year’s HRM Citizenship Award Winner for Armbrae. Each year, HRM honours a grade nine student from each school who exemplifies the qualities of a good citizen. In addition to exemplifying the qualities of a good citizen, Jack is a standout in Debate and Public Speaking, leadership, athletics, and in academics.
On the academics front, Jack is also the inaugural winner of the Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship. Launched this year, the Pursuit of Excellence Scholarships were conceived of and supported by Armbrae’s Board of Governors, and they are awarded to an Armbrae student or students in grade 9 that have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement. To that end, Jack will receive $5,000 per year for each of Grades 10, 11, and 12, bringing his total award to $15,000. Jack has been a standout at Armbrae throughout his career, so it is especially exciting to see him rewarded in this way. Well done, Jack!
Admissions Update
Although we have hit our enrollment targets for next year, we can strategically find spaces for excellent candidates in certain grades. If you have friends, neighbours, or colleagues that want to provide their children with the Armbrae experience, get them to reach out to Suzanne.

We do have a limited amount of hot dogs so you may also want to pack a small lunch just in case. We have 135 regular hot dogs, 9 halal hot dogs and 6 gluten free hot dogs to sell. Please note that unfortunately, we will not have gluten free buns. This is open to all students and staff from Primary-Grade 12. Thank you so much for your support!
