Armbrae Open House: Tuesday, May 30th 6:30-8:30pm
We are hosting an open house for prospective families on Tuesday, May, 30th from 6:30-8:00pm. This event is a great opportunity to check out Armbrae, meet faculty and staff and learn how we’re encouraging our students to “Unleash Their Potential!”

Celebration of Sport: Wednesday, May 24th 6:00pm-8:00pm
*Important* For parents/guardians & students in grades 5-12 who played on one or more of the following Osprey Teams, we invite you to attend our Annual Celebration of Sport taking place on Wednesday, May 24th from 6:00-8:00pm. A light snack will be provided. Please RSVP here.

Grade 6 & 7 Student Orientation
- Mrs. Sajatovich and the Middle School teachers are excited to welcome the Grade 6 students into the Middle School. On Monday, June 12th, current Grade 6 students are invited to join the Grade 7s for a pizza lunch at Conrose. We will depart Armbrae at 11:00am and return to Armbrae after 12:00pm. Students are asked to dress for the weather and bring a blanket to sit on.
- The Grade 6 into 7 Parent and Student Orientation Evening (for new and current families) is Wednesday, May 31st at 6:30pm. Please RSVP via this link.

Division Updates
Lower School - Tara Burt
Grade 4-6 Dance
There will be an end of year dance for Grades 4-6 on Friday, June 2nd. The dance will be in the AARC from 6:00-8:00pm. Tickets will be available for purchase from May 29th-June 1st in the Lower School Lobby. Tickets will cost $10 and with that students will receive their entrance to the dance, a drink and a treat. Any money left after purchasing supplies will be donated to the Friends of the IWK. The theme for the dance is Hawaiian so break out your flowery dresses, Hawaiian shirts and shorts and leis! Thank you to Mila and Tindra in Grade 5 for helping to get this dance organized!!
Middle School - Stephanie Sajatovich
The first Middle School exam is Friday, June 2nd (Science). All Middle School exam and summative assessment outlines have been shared with students and are posted on individual subject Brightspace pages. You can also find all the exam procedures and preparation information slideshows in the Advisory Brightspace pages. Exam procedures will be reviewed with students next week.
MS French students should ensure their headphone w/mics are at school and in functioning order, as they will be used to record their independent Oral production summative projects.
Please save the date in your calendar for two upcoming Middle School Performances:
- Thursday, May 25th: Grade 8 Collective Creation 12:30pm in the Drama Studio
- Please note this performance has been written for and will be attended by the Preschool-Primary audience.
- Thursday, May 25th: Middle School Guitar Recital 2:10pm in the AARC.
Dal Agriculture Campus Field Trip
Almost all of Middle School are heading to Dalhousie’s Agricultural Campus in Truro on Tuesday, June 13th. Students will depart at 8:45am and return between 3:00 - 3:30pm. Thank you to everyone who completed Armbrae’s permission form. Dalhousie University also requires parents to complete a waiver. Please print this waiver and after you complete it return it to Mrs. Sajatovich by Wednesday, May 24th.
Upper School - Ally Read
Final examinations for Armbrae courses will take place between Wednesday, May 31st and Friday, June 9th in the KTS Lecture Hall at the University of King’s College. The final day of classes and exam schedule will be different based on a student’s grade level and specific courses in their timetable. The Upper School Exam Schedule is available here and can also be found on the Upper School Handbook Course on Brightspace. Exam Procedures can be found here, and have been reviewed with all students.
Athletics - Susan Beazley
Athletic Highlights:
- The Field Hockey Team placed 2nd in the High School Division 1 League and played in the final on Wednesday night. Lockview High School beat us 6-5 in a very exciting game. Molly Harrington, Harnoor Kaur, Julia Britton and Sophie Pomeroy were league all stars. Sophie Pomeroy was named League Most Valuable Player and also won the Nancy Tokaryk Scholarship to play field hockey at the University Level. Congratulations!
- Our Track and Field Team will take to the track today and tomorrow for the Metro School meet. Good Luck!

APA Announcements
Back by popular demand! Used Uniforms Wanted!
The APA is looking to hold a second Used Uniform Sale on Friday, June 23rd! 10:00am-1:00pm. Used Uniform items can be dropped at the school at any point throughout the week until Wednesday, June 21st at 3pm.
Armbrae Fall Fun Run
The APA is looking to put together a committee that will be tasked with planning a Fall Fun Run. If you are interested in helping out please email apa@armbrae.ns.ca to see how you can get involved!
Tuck Shop
The next Tuck Shop will be held on Friday, May 19th during lunch. Parent volunteers will continue to sell school-safe treats and healthy options as an ongoing fundraiser for the work of the APA. Treats range from .50 to $2.50. The shop will continue to be cash only.
APA Annual General Meeting and Nominations
Our next APA meeting will be the year end AGM. It will be held on June 6th, 2023, at 6:00pm at the Oxford campus. We are looking for parents interested in serving on the Armbrae Parents’ Association Executive for the coming school year (2023-2024). Please email apa@armbrae.ns.ca before June 7th. Please include your name and the position you are applying for. All names will be placed on a ballot for each available position as a vote will be held during the AGM on June 6th. A further stand-alone email will be sent early next week highlighting each position and the objective of the APA. Executive Positions are as follows:
- Vice-Chairperson (1 year term + 1 year possible renewal)
- Treasurer (2-4 year term + 1 year possible renewal)
