Grandparents’ Day: Friday, May 5th, 2023

Celebration of Sport: Wednesday, May 24th 6:00pm-8:00pm
Save the date for our annual Celebration of Sport! Further details will follow in the coming weeks.
Grade 6 & 7 Student Orientation
Mrs. Sajatovich and the Middle School teachers are excited to welcome the Grade 6 students into the Middle School. On Monday, June 12th, Grade 6 students are invited to join the Grade 7s for a pizza lunch at Conrose. We will depart Armbrae at 11:00am and return to Armbrae after 12:00pm. Students are asked to dress for the weather and bring a blanket to sit on.
- The Grade 6 into 7 Parent and Student Orientation evening is Wednesday, May 31st at 6:30pm.

Terry Fox T-Shirts
Every year the Terry Fox foundation sells t-shirts in support of cancer research. They are often sold out by the time September comes around. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt for your child (or yourself) to wear for our run in September, please visit.
Division Updates
Lower School- Tara Burt
The day is almost here! The Lower School Musical, The World’s Worst Fairy Godmother will take place on Friday, May 12th. There will be a matinee performance at 1:00pm and an evening performance at 6:30pm. No tickets will be required. Please click HERE for costume information for your child. Please note that there is no co-curricular or after school programming on this day. Also, all students need to be back at school by 6:00pm to get into costumes and have face paint touched up
Grade 4-6 Dance: There will be an end of year dance for Grades 4-6 on Friday, June 2nd. The dance will be in the AARC from 6:00-8:00pm. Tickets will be available for purchase from May 29th-June 1st in the Lower School Lobby. Tickets will cost $10 and with that students will receive their entrance to the dance, a drink and a treat. Any money left after purchasing supplies will be donated to the Friends of the IWK. The theme for the dance is Hawaiian so break out your flowery dresses, Hawaiian shirts and shorts and leis! Thank you to Mila and Tindra in Grade 5 for helping to get this dance organized!!
Middle School - Stephanie Sajatovich
Middle School exam outlines are being released this week and will be posted on individual subject Brightspace pages.
MS French students should ensure their headphone w/mics are at school and in functioning order, as they will be used to record their independent Oral production summative projects.
Please save the date in your calendar for two upcoming Middle School Performances:
- Thursday, May 25th: Grade 8 Collective Creation 12:30pm in the Drama Studio
- Please note this performance has been written for and will be attended by the Preschool-Primary audience.
- Thursday, May 25th: Middle School Guitar Recital 2:10pm in the AARC.
On Tuesday, June 13th Middle School students are heading to Dalhousie’s Agricultural Campus in Truro for the day. Students will depart at 8:45am and return between 3:00 - 3:30pm. A permission Google form with more details will be emailed next week.

Job Shadow Day
Thank you to all of the members of our community who volunteered to support our Grade 11 & 12 students in their Job Shadow Day today - students had amazing experiences across a wide variety of professions and career fields.
Spring Learning Series for Parents
We’ve had a great turnout for the previous information sessions on Applying to the USA and Everything You Need to Know About Scholarships (in Grade 11). The final instalment of this year’s series will take place in-person at the Coburg Campus; please register on Eventbrite:

AP Exams & Armbrae Exams
AP exams kicked off this week and will continue through Friday, May 12th. This year we have a total of 46 exams being written across 10 subjects. Good luck to all of the students challenging an AP exam (or several) this year!
Final examinations for Armbrae courses will take place between Wednesday, May 31st and Friday, June 9th in the KTS Lecture Hall at the University of King’s College. The final day of classes and exam schedule will be different based on a student’s grade level and specific courses in their timetable. The Upper School Exam Schedule is available here and can also be found on the Upper School Handbook Course on Brightspace.
Athletics - Susan Beazley
Athletic Highlights:
- The Field Hockey Team placed 2nd in the High School Division 1 League and won their quarter final game and will play in the Semi-finals. Congrats and good luck!
- Molly and Hanson Wu won Junior Mixed Doubles Provincials. Congratulations!
- Ultimate Frisbee Team placed 2nd in the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Congratulations!
- Flag Football Team won the Junior High Tournament. Congratulations!
- Track and Field practices are on Monday and Wednesday at SMU. Metro’s are on May 17 and 18.

APA Announcements
Monthly Meeting
Join us for a morning coffee and our monthly APA meeting on Tuesday, May 9th in person (Oxford campus) at 8:30am. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Rose Sale: Pre-order roses for “The World’s Worst Fairy Godmother”!
Beautiful individually wrapped roses with greenery are being pre-sold for $5 each to recognize the incredible performances we are anticipating from your kids/grandkids at The World’s Worst Fairy Godmother. Please submit your order and online payment here by 8am Monday, May 8th. Roses will be available for pickup at the matinee and evening performances. Roses are being provided courtesy of The Flower Shop, with funds going to the Armbrae Parents’ Association to help fund the End of Year Celebration!
Used Uniforms
If you have any used uniform items, please drop them off at the school before the end of the school year! Moving forward, we will be hosting used uniform sales throughout the year and are always looking for items.
Tuck Shop
The next Tuck Shop will be held on Friday, May 12th during lunch. Parent volunteers will continue to sell school-safe treats and healthy options as an ongoing fundraiser for the work of the APA. Treats range from .50 to $2.50. The shop will continue to be cash only.
